Hello everyone, Hayley from The Dolce Hunter here. In this article, I will highlight eight chic and hip boutique hotels in Lisbon from on-a-budget to luxury and throw in a couple extras as well.
There is quite the deserved hype about Portugal these days. Did you know that no other Western European country is being more heavily invested in for tourism at the moment? Portugal is on the rise and rising real estate prices are attesting to this. What once used to be an affordable escape from neighboring Spain and France is no longer. However, it is still possible to find decent hotel prices and more often than not, you will get a taste of luxury even in a 3-star hotel.
With roughly 1 ,793 km (1,114 mi) of coastline and its turquoise beaches, its rich gastronomy scene, and incredibly rich and beautifully colored architecture, Portugal is a visual and sensuous experience. Not to mention its wine scene. With its mega wine producing neighbors of France, Italy and Spain, Portuguese wines, it would seem would hide in their shadows but it is quite opposite. With over 200 unique and indigenous grapes, a wine tasting and port tasting trip alone would be its own vacation in and of itself.
Turning to its capital, the Lisbon vibe as a European destination, is one of relaxed old world charm. Simultaneous it possesses a vibrancy that is unmatched in other European cities. Perhaps it’s because it has been able to operate out of the limelight of its other neighbors for so long and just be itself. Well this is changing as it becomes a hot destination these days, but it still maintains its own unique, whimsical, friendly and colorful charm. In this post I have highlighted eight, actually eleven, boutique hotels ranging from $120 to over $600. Hopefully this will help as you plan your next trip to this beautiful city with incredible views at every turn.
